Most cars are not
scratched. They are dull.

Swirl marks are thousands of shallow scratches catching light in every direction at once. Nothing polishes out of a bottle. A machine, a pad and the right compound cut a few microns off the clear coat until the surface is flat again, and the colour comes back.

What a wash cannot reach

Brake dust embeds in the clear coat. Tar sticks. Rail dust from the factory train sits in the paint as orange specks you can feel with a fingertip through a plastic bag. None of that comes off with soap, and every one of them is still there under a coat of wax.

Decontamination is the part nobody photographs. Iron remover to dissolve the metal, solvent for the tar, then a clay bar over every panel until the surface stops dragging. Only then is there anything worth polishing.

  • Two-bucket wash with grit guards, wheels first
  • Iron and tar dissolved, not scrubbed
  • Clay bar over every painted panel and the glass
  • Panel wipe before anything protective goes on

One stage or two

A single stage takes out light swirls and wash marks and puts the gloss back. It suits most cars that have been through automatic washes for a few years.

Two stages start with a cutting compound to level deeper defects, then refine with a finishing polish so the cut marks themselves disappear. It takes longer because it has to.

We look at the car under inspection light and tell you which one it needs. Sometimes the answer is one stage on a car you were braced to pay for two.

What it costs

Sedan pricing. Larger vehicles are more because there is more of them, and we will say so before we start rather than after.

Every wrap and every paint protection job includes the decontamination stage at no extra cost. It is not an upsell, it is the only way film sticks properly.
